The central component of the CSD 300 is the pontoon. The pontoon houses the dredge pumps, controlled by engines, the bridge serving as the command center, and a power supply for various uses. The cutter ladder, supporting the underwater pump and cutter-head, is positioned at the front of the dredger. It is linked to the pontoon through the trunnion and can be raised or lowered using a hoisting wire connected to the gantry above the ladder. The cutter-head, positioned at the front of the ladder, excavates materials through a rotating motion. The teeth on the cutter head break up the material, which is then lifted by the main pumps.
